Synchronization Modes

Discover how to keep data up-to-date across application.

Data synchronization is a process of keeping data consistent and up-to-date across multiple systems, databases, or data sources by updating and transferring data.

For Import and Export apps you can perform only import or export of data accordingly. For 2-way Sync applications, there are 3 sync modes are available.

Full Sync

Full Sync is the default mode for all applications in School Passport. During a full sync for Import or Export apps, all data is transferred between systems.

When you run a full sync for 2-Way Sync apps, data is imported into School Passport, where it is merged with existing data. After that, all data updates are exported to that application.

Incremental Import

Only for PowerSchool. During Incremental Sync, only the data that has been changed since the last synchronization is processed. This mode helps to reduce runtime. To enable Incremental Sync, please contact the GG4L Support Team.

Preview Sync

Preview Mode is an optional view of data before it is kept or updated. It imports data from the application and displays a preview of the users who will be exported or updated during the full synchronization process. This process also identifies any potential issues that may need attention.
