Features

Incremental Sync Schedule for PowerSchool

Audience: District Admins

The new Incremental Sync Schedule feature lets a District Admin auto-sync only the new or changed data since the last sync in PowerSchool. Compared with the existing Full Sync Schedule, this feature is faster while also improving performance. Also, if an issue occurs during the sync, processing less data makes it easier to identify and troubleshoot the problem. See Incremental Sync Schedule.

New AI features on the PGC

Audience: District Admin

The following AI features have been added to the Privacy Governance Console (PGC) application's page to enhance risk management:

  • Suspected PII Usage: This feature checks applications based on four parameters of PII using AI. The AI will label the status as 'Likely', 'Unknown', or 'Pending Evaluation'.
  • Privacy Policy AI Review: This feature shows an AI analysis of each application's privacy policy, focusing on 10 key security pillars. District Admins can now quickly assess how well each application’s privacy policy addresses security standards.

These AI insights will help you protect PII data within your organization and improve security and compliance.

Request application feature in PGC

Audience: District Admin

The Request application feature enables you to request to add an application to your list, even if it’s not included in the default apps for student use. This feature expands the range of applications you can track and monitor.

Updates

Enhanced dynamic tagging system in PGC

Audience: District Admin

The Manage Tags page has been updated to allow District Admins to sort and group tags in the Privacy Governance Console (PGC) using drag-and-drop. This update helps efficiently group and manage applications according to their specific needs.

Automatic replacement for missing user information

Audience: District Admins

School Passport has created a system that replaces missing attributes (required by the vendor) in user records. These values are pre-approved by both the district and the vendor. This improvement helps District Admins avoid errors during data syncing and reduces service disruptions due to missing mandatory data attribute.

Total number of users added to PGC

Audience: District Admin

The total number of active users is now available on the Privacy Governance Console (PGC) application page. This helps District Admins monitor user activity and manage resources more effectively.

Handling anonymized data in School Passport Extension

Audience: All

School Passport Extension now lets users identify anonymized data that was masked by the Connect anonymization process.

Auto-login for SSO users in School Passport Extension

Audience: All

School Passport Extension is allowing automatic login for users rostered via Connect, so they don’t need to click a button to log in.
